Introduction
There is very little streetview coverage in Vietnam, and the existing official coverage is not accessible through google maps.
It is very easy to find where you are in the country because addresses are written everywhere. This guide simply explains you how to read an address then shows you the 10 cities with streetview coverage.
How to read an address
Addresses (DC = địa chỉ = adresse) have a number and a street name

You may find the district number (Q = quận = district) in major cities.

City name is usually written after TP (TP = Thành phố = city)

The province is not always specified, sometimes it is written in full or in abbreviated. For the big cities, the name of the city and the name of the province are identical.

10 cities with official coverage
I recommend you use the City quiz with the country "Vietnam Geoguessr" to learn them.
City | Province | Province abbreviated |
---|---|---|
Ho Chi Minh City | Ho Chi Minh | HCM |
Hanoi | Hanoi | HN |
Haiphong | Haiphong | HP |
Huế | Thừa Thiên Huế | Huế |
Thái Nguyên | Thái Nguyên | TN |
Hạ Long | Quảng Ninh | - |
Yên Bái | Yên Bái | YB |
Sông Cầu | Phu Yen | - |
Bắc Ninh | Bắc Ninh | BN |
Mỹ Tho | Tiền Giang | - |
As far as i know only province names are abbreviated, so there's no abbreviation for Hạ Long, Sông Cầu or Mỹ Tho.
Good to know
Ho Chi Minh City was previously named Saïgon, a name that you may find sometimes.
Also, Ho Chi Minh is an historic figure, so you may find his name even though you're not in Ho Chi Minh City.
There are a few meta for Vietnam, but if you play in move they're not very interesting because of the many addresses you will find. If you're interested, you can find them on geotips.net
